Youth and USY

Your teenagers can be as active as they want at B'nai Israel Congregations. We are a vibrant, family-oriented synagogue with programs designed to meet the needs of today's youth growing up Jewish in a small Jewish community such as ours.

If you are in high school, you are eligible to join U.S.Y. For grades 6-8, you are eligible to be a member of Kadimah. Don't miss our recreational, educational, and exciting programs! We also encourage attendance at regional events throughout Ontario and Quebec that are a great deal of fun.

For a list of upcoming and current programs, please contact the Shul.

As well as U.S.Y., many of our synagogue's youth are part of the Regional Jewish Communities of Ontario's High School Outreach Program. This program is designed by a partnership program between the United Israel Appeal and Canadian Jewish Congress for Jewish teens growing up in small communities across Ontario. This program runs in a 3-year cycle, with a new cycle just starting now. It is an incredible program which provides comprehensive education about Judaism through correspondence materials and monthly assignments. There are also 3-4 weekend shabbatons, where the teens can meet others from all over the province. For more information on this program please contact Emma Sobel, Co-ordinator for Community Services and Youth Outreach at 416-635-2883 ext 236.
